It was incredible to see nearly 1,200 community members come together for a day of food, music, laughter, and connection — enjoying delicious favorites from the J Café; tasting bagels, Israeli dishes, and sweet treats from our amazing local vendors, singing along with Hinda, and snapping selfies with our favorite pickle mascot.
Moments like these remind us what makes our community so special. When we gather around food and celebration, we also show up for one another.
We know you came hungry. We hope you left with a full heart. 💙
Some highlights FROM THIS YEAR:
Sales of raffle tickets, t-shirts, and food generated more than $30,000 for our Food Pantry. Those proceeds will sustain our work for an entire year!
Over 75 shopping bags full of hygiene products, shelf-stable food, and fresh produce were donated to the Food Pantry on-site.
Dozens of volunteers and staff dedicated many hundreds of hours over six months to bring the Jewish Food Festival to fruition.
Fun fact: It takes more than 75lbs ofpotatoes to make all of the knishes!
Ten small businesses local to Durham, including multiple Jewish-owned businesses, generated more than $5,000 in revenue for themselves!
