Jewish for Good offers a comprehensive range of services that help people meet life’s challenges. Guided by the Jewish values of communal responsibility and social justice, we are passionate about our commitment to serving all members of the community, regardless of race, religious affiliation, identity, age, or ability. We deliver high-quality professional social services for adults and families through all stages of life and strive to improve quality of life by providing affordable services and educational workshops that help foster the Jewish tradition of empowering people to care for themselves and each other. Thanks to our donors and volunteers, the cost of all of our services are financially accessible. Those in need will not be turned away for lack of funds.
In-person and Virtual Care Partner Support Groups
VIRTUAL GROUP: Our peer-led Care Partner Support Group provides an opportunity for care partners and family members of loved ones who are experiencing middle- to late-stage memory and thinking issues to share resources and discuss emotions in a confidential setting. A family care partner is someone who provides unpaid care for another person. This person could be a spouse, parent, child, other relative, or friend. Our Care Partner Support Group provides an opportunity for care partners and family members of loved ones who are experiencing memory and thinking issues to share resources.
The group values respect and responds with empathy and non-judgmental feedback in a confidential setting. This virtual group meets on the 4th Wednesday of every month from 12:30-2pm.
IN-PERSON GROUP: This group is open to any caregiver, providing a supportive space to connect with others navigating similar journeys. Designed as a warm, inclusive space for caregivers of loved ones in the early to middle stages of dementia, this new program complements our virtual group for those with loved ones in later stages or experiencing bereavement.
The in-person group meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month, 10-11am. NO RSVP REQUIRED!
(Jewish for Good at the Levin JCC: 1937 W. Cornwaillis Road, Durham NC 27705)
The group will be led by Rachel Wilson, our Adult Day Center Program Assistant. Rachel holds an MSW from UNC Chapel Hill and brings over a decade of experience working with older adults.

Emergency Financial Assistance
Our Emergency Financial Assistance Program provides families assistance for necessities such as housing, utilities, health care, and food in times of crisis when they are unable to provide for themselves. Emergency Financial Assistance may be provided when there are medical issues, a loss of income, or a death in the family; however, it is not intended to provide full financial support for any individual on a long-term basis. In cases of ongoing need, our staff will help the individual or family to find other resources. Anyone receiving financial assistance will need to meet with one of our clinical social workers for an initial interview and undergo a financial assessment. All applicants will be asked to provide documentation related to their income and their expenses.
Food Pantry
The Food Pantry enables us to serve the community by providing non-perishable food and toiletries to those in need. Additionally, in collaboration with Farmer Foodshare, we are able to offer fresh produce to those experiencing food insecurity.
General Food Pantry pick-ups occur on the 4th Tuesday of the month, from 1-3pm by appointment only. RSVP required.
Thanks so much to our Food Pantry corporate sponsors: Wegmans and Publix
